Amboseli national park is a word class national park with a dense concentration of elephant population. The park derives it’s name from the famous whirlwinds that traverse across the park.

This park is also famous for the mount kilimanjaro which is one of natures greatest spectacle ever to unfold.
Mount kilimanjaro is important for the people who live near Amboseli because, during the dry season, snow melts and flows as water from the peak of mount kilimanjaro and forms a big swamp at the foot hills of Amboseli national park. The water helps the indigenous Masai people who border the park and their cattle.
Amboseli national park is also a dwelling place for the famous African Elephants which weigh more than 5 tons and also a natural habitat for the famous yellow baboons which can be easily spotted inside the national park.
Lions, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, hyenas and the thompson gazelles can also be spotted inside the park.
What makes Amboseli national park even more interesting, is the fact that it is located just right next to the Kenyan Tanzanian border and also it is a good transit point on your way to Mombasa.
